Biography
In 1992 Black Melody originated when veterans of Spina Bifida and Disembowel joined forces, motivated solely by the urge to perform the metal that had shaped their childhood listening. Operating from Tilburg in the Netherlands, the four-piece group channeled the style of Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and Motorhead once they had completed several early performances and independently issued their debut EP Headliner in 1994. Following the 1998 debut EP Retrospectacles and repeated personnel shifts, Black Melody locked in the configuration of Richard (guitar/vocals), Gerben (guitar), Norbert (bass/vocals), and Gerard (drums). Their second EP Suffer the Cure appeared the next year.
