Biography
A country-rock outfit called Black Tie united Billy Swan with Bread alum Jimmy Griffith and Randy Meisner, the former Eagle who had just come away from an abortive reunion of his original group Poco. The band’s solitary release appeared in 1986 as the covers album When the Night Falls. Though short-lived, the project generated a minor charting single via its country-infused take on Buddy Holly’s “Learning the Game.”
