Biography
Formed in 2008 in atmospheric Seattle, Washington, indie rock outfit Black Whales coalesced around vocalist/guitarist Alex Robert, guitarist/keyboardist Alan Foote, drummer/percussionist Davey Brozowski, bassist Ryan Middleton, and keyboard player/percussionist Mike Bayer. Drawing on a spacious, rain-soaked neo-traditional pop-infused folk-rock sound shared by fellow Pacific Northwest shape-shifters the Moondoggies and the Cave Singers, the band issued their debut EP, Origins, in 2009.
