Biography
Blaq Lily fuses Celtic musical elements with contemporary guitar techniques to produce an original strain of alternative rock. The group distinguishes its sound further by incorporating atypical instruments including harps and flutes. Arminta on vocals and flute joined Raven on guitar to establish the core of Lily during 1999 in Indianapolis. Their combined prior musical background prompted a swift expansion to a complete ensemble once Alexandra joined on harp and keyboard, Creed took bass, and Ron handled drums and percussion. Several months of presenting original material across numerous venues throughout the United States preceded the release of their first album. The self-released Blaq Lily reached stores in 1999, earning substantial critical approval along with steady rotation on radio outlets nationwide. Following an additional year of uninterrupted live performances, the band put out its next full-length effort, Still Waters, which likewise garnered notable recognition. Their third studio recording, Dream Walk, appeared in 2002.
