Biography
Emerging from Barcelona during the early 1990s, Blazemth ranked among Spain’s rare entries in black metal and traced its roots to the preceding group Undivine. The musicians openly claimed the distinction of being Spain’s sole satanic metal outfit, a lineup that featured Volkhaar handling vocals and guitar alongside Hisaar Lut on guitar, Erlick on guitar and bass, Eodar on bass, and Frost Demon behind the drums. In 1994 the ensemble laid down its initial recordings, the demos Daemonium and Unholycaust. Taking deep cues from Norwegian forebears such as Emperor and Satyricon, the band issued its first sanctioned works with the 1995 EP For Centuries Left Behind and the 1996 EP Fatherland, both of which offered an Iberian lens on the shadowy myths and retributive deities revered by those northern counterparts. Whether subject matter eventually ran dry or momentum simply faded stays unknown, yet Blazemth soon slipped from view.
