Biography
Formed in France during 1992, the grindcore outfit Blockheads spent years building momentum through relentless effort until they secured opening slots alongside established acts such as Napalm Death, Entombed, Carcass, and Obituary. Their initial demo, Haaashaastaak, appeared in 1993, after which the band issued the self-released full-length Last Tribes. A 7" split with Mastic Scum arrived in 1997 as the first of two such collaborations—the second, involving Nostromo, surfaced in 2002—while their second album, another independent release, came out in 1998. Those recordings, paired with steady touring, led to a contract with Bones Brigade, under whose banner the group delivered From Womb to Genocide in 2000 and Human Parade in 2001. Further festival bookings followed this period of output, paving the way for a sixth album, Shapes of Misery, issued in 2006 on the Overcome label.
