Biography
New York's Blood on the Wall delivers high-energy, danceable indie rock featuring boy-girl vocals, even though the band's name suggests something far darker. Guitarist/vocalist Brad Shanks, bassist/vocalist Courtney Shanks, and drummer Miggy Littleton—also known for his work with Ida—make up the trio. Courtney first encountered Littleton selling records on a street corner, where a shared discussion about music sparked an immediate friendship that later grew into a musical partnership. Once Courtney and her brother Ben finished college in their hometown of Lawrence, KS, Ben relocated to Williamsburg, NY, to team up with Shanks and Littleton. The group released its first 7", Baby Likes to Holler/The Walking Dead, through Big Deal, then shifted to The Social Registry for the self-titled full-length album that appeared in spring 2004.
