Bloodthirst took shape in Poznan, Poland, during 1999, with its roster reaching completion the next year. The band first registered in metal circles through the 2001 demo End Is the Beginning, yet the thrash metal songs featured on that recording met resistance from the original participants. Founder and leader Rambo therefore rebuilt the entire lineup mid-project, bringing in Kura on guitar, Angsar on bass, and Slayer on drums to finish the recording. Additional demos and further membership adjustments occupied the following years until 2005, when Bloodthirst advanced to split releases and contributed to three such efforts that year, strengthening their standing while sharpening their thrash style. A 2006 compilation assembled earlier tracks and secured a contract with Pagan Records, which in turn provided proper studio access and yielded the band’s debut full-length, Let Him Die, in 2007.
