Biography
Hailing from Chicago, the aptly named Bludgeon unites vocalist and rhythm guitarist Mark Duca with lead guitarist Carlos Alvarez, bassist Eric Karol, and drummer Matt Dezynski to deliver thrashy mid-paced death metal. Established in 1997, the group tracked its “Inner Hell” demo tape the next year, after which Manowar bassist Joey DeMaio discovered the band and chose it as the inaugural signing to his Magic Circle Music label. Bludgeon’s debut album, Crucify the Priest, reached completion and saw release in 2002.
