Biography
Andrew Heilprin, working as a singer and songwriter, produces music that feels more grounded and restrained than the high-energy punk approach he once delivered while leading the Southern California outfit 40 Watt Domain. Taking a cue from Bob Dylan, he chose Blue-Eyed Son as his own performing alias.
During a 2002 journey to Hawaii arranged for meetings at Volcano Records, he carried roughly fifty compositions, yet a laptop malfunction wiped out nearly all of them. Four tracks nevertheless endured the mishap. Heilprin assembled those survivors into a demo intended for various labels. The independent imprint Eeenie Meenie obtained the recording and responded favorably to the sincere tone of his delivery.
Blue-Eyed Son issued his first proper release, West of Lincoln, in spring 2004.
