Biography
New York-based noise pop outfit BLUFFING came together in March 2012 when drummer/vocalist J Boxer and guitarist/vocalist Olivia Drusin assembled the project around a strict rule that no song would exceed two minutes, favoring brevity and immediate appeal. The band’s dense layering of hooks sat alongside layers of feedback, prompting an early expansion that brought second guitarist Sammy Weissberg into the fold while the bass chair shifted between Charlie DY and Madeline Black. Their first full-length release, Sugar Coated Pills of Wisdom, took shape inside the studio facilities of Brooklyn D.I.Y. space Silent Barn, specifically its Future ’86 wing.
