Biography
Emerging from Austin, Texas, the indie punk-pop band Bo Bud Greene originated in 1992 under the moniker Paint when guitarist and vocalist Anderson Bracht connected with guitarist Sean Mullens via a classified advertisement, soon recruiting drummer Tim Dittmar. Prior to their enforced rebranding in 1993 due to legal issues, the ensemble issued multiple self-produced cassettes featuring various bass players. Marcara Fort joined as the permanent bassist soon after the name change, prompting Bo Bud Greene to produce singles and tracks for compilations alongside their cassette releases. Following a pair of singles released via Last Beat, they cut their first album, Whatever, for Backyard Records in 1995. Additional appearances on compilations came next, leading to their sophomore full-length effort, The Same But Different, issued by Super Cottonmouth in 1997.
