Biography
Bob Pyle works as a country-folk singer and songwriter from Maryland. He established the Baltimore-Washington Songwriter's Association, and his stage work stretches back to the 1970s, when he appeared both as a solo folk act and as an old-time country banjo player in the string band Famous Pyle Brothers. Humor and novelty numbers dominate his material—one song that reached major-market radio was "I Wrote the Songs That Barry Manilow Sings"—yet he also channels his work toward advocacy for vegetarianism, animal rights, and family farms.
Four-and-a-half years went into the making of his first solo album, Apples & Oranges, issued on his own Apple Tree Records imprint in April 2004 and showcasing numerous leading players from the Baltimore-Washington region.
