His output remained centered in country gospel, where he retained steady favor with Christian music listeners over three decades. Early sides he cut chiefly for Old Homestead Records and Brite-star Records featured ‘Have You Seen Papa’s Coal Loadin’ Hands’, ‘Rebel Soldier, Your Memory Will Never Die’, and ‘Let Me Tell You About A Preacher’, all made with Charlie Moore And The Dixie Partners, together with ‘I’m Still Amazed’, ‘I Knew A Mother’, ‘It’s A Long Way Up’, ‘Self Righteous Fool’, ‘My Anchor Holds’, ‘Papa’s Pride’ and ‘Remains Of My Heart’.
