Biography
Forming an eleven-piece group called Benson and his Combo, Bobby Benson launched his musical journey in the 1950s. Over the next twenty years the ensemble scored multiple successes, among them the tracks "Taxi Driver" and "Freedom, Yes Sir." Benson took the presidency of the Nigerian Union of Musicians in 1960 and went on to found the Performing Artistes Association of Nigeria in 1981. Bobby Benson passed away in 1983.
