Biography
Born in Cuba, ordained Yoruba priestess and singer Gladys "Bobi" Céspedes has made her home in the U.S. ever since emigrating in 1959. She now resides in San Francisco, where she and her nephew Guillermo Céspedes established the progressive Latin/Cuban ensemble Conjunto Céspedes in 1981. Her spiritually charged lyrics likewise shape her projects with percussionist Mickey Hart and her 2002 solo album Rezos.
