Body Boys emerged among the enigmatic roster of artists brought to light by the cryptic U.K. imprint Opal Tapes. Their introduction came via the 2013 cassette Growth Window, which wrapped hushed, spectral voices inside layers of murky dark ambient haze. Subsequent placements on the label’s digital collections No Lotion and Cambiare preceded a live appearance at Opal Tapes’ showcase held at Chicago’s Burlington venue in December 2014. The project’s follow-up full-length, No Face, surfaced the next year and retained traces of the debut’s veiled atmosphere while adding dense, jagged techno rhythms.
