Biography
Body Language, a Brooklyn-based club ensemble with a penchant for retro sounds, fuses ‘80s soul and electro into a forward-looking style reminiscent of Deee-Lite, Chromeo, and Jamiroquai. Supported by the event organizers CassetteNYC and Percussionlab, the quartet consisting of Grant Wheeler, Matt Young, Ian Chang, and Angelica Bess cultivated a dedicated following through performances across N.Y.C. prior to the 2009 issuance of their Speaks EP via Moodgadget Records. Om records put out Social Studies, the group's debut full-length, toward the end of 2011. Lavish Habits then issued Grammar, their sophomore effort with heightened R&B and dance elements, during the latter part of summer 2013.
