Biography
Formed in New York during 1996, the alt-metal quartet Boiler Room brought together vocalist Chris Lino, guitarist Rob Caggiano, bassist James Meselsohn, and drummer Mike Meselsohn. Several years of performances across the city’s club circuit allowed the group to refine both its songwriting and stage presence, until a 1999 support date for Orgy sparked airplay on local stations. After signing with Roadrunner, the band prepared its debut album, Can't Breathe, for a planned summer 2000 release, yet repeated postponements kept the project on hold. The group ultimately landed on Tommy Boy, and that label brought Can't Breathe out in November.
