Biography
Oslo's Bonk originated in 2001 when Andreas Grotterud (guitar/vocals) and Leif Koren (guitar/vocals) formed the group. Their 2004 debut album Western Soul showcased a greasy rock sound driven by killer guitar licks and a quirky sense of humor. Two years afterward, Gisle Amundsen (drums) and Bård Høvik (bass) came aboard, bolstering the band's energetic garage rock approach. Anders Møller (Turbonegro, Paperboys) handled recording duties for the follow-up release Bonk Against Nothing in 2006, which Ulf Holand (a-ha, Turbonegro, Gluecifer) mixed.
