Biography
Having shared his formative years with Memphis Slim, Booker T. Laury maintained a close friendship with the pianist. That association shaped his keyboard approach to reflect the same barrelhouse sound Slim favored. Laury nevertheless remained in Memphis for his entire career, performing at the same local clubs without interruption. Although several albums appeared overseas, no domestic full-length release materialized until Bullseye Blues issued Nothin' but the Blues, an album built exclusively around Laury's voice and piano.
