Biography
A Chattanooga, Tennessee-based trio called Boondoggle is best known today for introducing Sean Meadows, the musician who later handled guitar duties in the math-rock outfit June of 44 and bass duties in the long-running Dischord emo group Lungfish. The band’s sole release while active was the Kustom Kitchen EP Groove Inside Yourself. Boondoggle also contributed the track “Invertebrate” to the soundtrack of the cult indie-rock movie Half Cocked. Meadows first encountered the Louisville math-rock band Rodan through his work with Boondoggle; after Rodan split in late 1994, he teamed with that group’s guitarist Jeff Mueller to establish June of 44. Between 1995 and 1996 he also supplied bass for Lungfish and took part in another Rodan-related project, the gentler Sonora Pine. Following June of 44’s dissolution in 2000, Meadows turned to fresh endeavors, forming the Letter E and launching the solo outlet Everlasting the Way.
