Biography
Jesse "The Devil" Hughes performs under the stage persona Boots Electric as guitarist and vocalist, having launched the wide-ranging garage rock duo Eagles of Death Metal in 2008 together with his longtime associate Josh Homme, frontman of Queens of the Stone Age. A native of Greenville, South Carolina who also answers to “Fabulous Weapon” and counts Little Richard among his foremost inspirations, he is recognized for his spirited dancing and erratic onstage conduct. His inaugural solo outing under the Boots Electric name, the dancefloor-oriented electro-rock album Honkey Kong, appeared in September 2011 on Dangerbird Records after being produced by Tony Hoffer, whose past work encompasses Beck and Depeche Mode.
