Bossanova

The initial configuration of Bossanova featured Michael Boegh on bass, Tony Koelwyn on drums, Chris Storrow handling vocals and guitar, and Greg Macdonald on organ and Moog. This Vancouver quartet embodied an uplifting strain of indie that echoed other Northwestern acts such as Beat Happening, Cub and Modest Mouse. Their 1997 debut EP I Give You...Bossanova spotlighted the quartet's trademark of accompanied keyboards, which advanced their aesthetics of pop. Released that same year, their second self-titled EP preceded the arrival of Heather Campbell, who joined the Bossanova ranks and supplied her own wall of organs.
