Bows

Following the dissolution of his prior band, the critically-acclaimed Long Fin Killie, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and singer Luke Sutherland launched Bows. Danish vocalist Signe Høirup Wille-Jørgensen then joined to complete the project's central duo. Early in 1999 the pair debuted with the trip-hop inspired single "Big Wings." Later that year the jazzy single "Blush" arrived together with an album of the same name. Sutherland has also earned recognition as a novelist; his first book, the semi-autobiographical Jelly Roll, which traces a Scottish jazz band’s tour through the highlands, received a nomination for the Whitbread Prize in the First Novel category.
