Box of Frogs

Box of Frogs emerged as a blues-infused hard rock ensemble reuniting three original Yardbirds members—guitarist Chris Dreja, bassist Paul Samwell-Smith, and drummer Jim McCarty. The musicians convened once more in 1983 for their first appearance together after the Yardbirds dissolved in mid-1968, performing at the London Marquee; the enthusiastic reception led them to form Box of Frogs with vocalist John Fiddler, previously of Medicine Head and British Lions. Fellow Yardbirds veteran Jeff Beck contributed guitar to multiple cuts on the self-titled 1984 LP, while Jimmy Page appeared on its 1986 successor Strange Land. The band dissolved not long afterward.
