Biography
Serving as lead guitarist and co-songwriter in the Nashville-based group Old Dominion, Brad Tursi has secured multiple chart-topping singles that blend country, pop, and soft rock textures. Along with bandmates Matt Ramsey and Trevor Rosen, he began his Nashville tenure crafting material for other performers before the trio united to create one of the most successful country acts of the late 2010s. A skilled guitarist and harmony vocalist, Tursi also co-wrote number one singles including "Break Up with Him," "One Man Band," and "Memory Lane." In 2024 he initiated a parallel solo path through the release of his first album, Parallel Love.
Originally from Connecticut, Tursi gained early recognition playing guitar in the Virginia alt-rock band Army of Me, which issued recordings on Atlantic during the 2000s. He later relocated to Nashville, where he worked as a session guitarist and songwriter, supplying hits for Kenny Chesney with "Save It for a Rainy Day" and Luke Bryan with "Light it Up," among others. In 2012 he joined Ramsey and Rosen to establish Old Dominion, a country-rock five-piece composed of experienced industry professionals capable of both performance and composition. The group achieved immediate success with "Break Up with Him," later featured on their 2015 RCA Nashville debut album Meat and Candy. While contributing as outside songwriters to the bro-country wave, the band’s own output remained gentler and more reflective. By the close of the 2010s, Old Dominion had earned extensive recognition, tallying seven number one singles, most of them co-written by their lead guitarist.
That momentum extended into the following decade through platinum-certified tracks such as 2021’s "I Was On a Boat That Day" and 2023’s "Memory Lane." In 2024 Tursi assembled material that lay beyond the scope of his main band. Leaning toward reflective, folk-leaning songs, the ten selections on Parallel Love, his solo debut, signaled a fresh phase for this adaptable musician.
