Biography
Bradd Young, the R&B vocalist and composer whose relaxed delivery shifts smoothly between cunning and wistful inflections, grew up in St. Louis and began cutting tracks by age 16. Working alongside Pretty Boy, he first entered the business through joint work with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Kelly Rowland, and Maino. Issued in 2008 on the RockHouse Music imprint the pair founded, his own laid-back single “Girlz” stirred local radio in St. Louis and reached Billboard’s Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart that August. The ballad “Grown Man” repeated the feat several months afterward and later climbed onto the flagship Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart in January 2010.
