Biography
Breaking Southwest stands out as a bold, vibrant contemporary country group rooted in the Dallas, Texas region. Their sound traces a direct line to the Band Perry, delivering amplified guitars and driving rhythms that avoid excess through an instinctive command of pop melodies.
The act originated as an acoustic duo launched in 2010. It gradually grew into a trio of Kent Bell, Kyle Gaston, and Lauren Hall backed by four supporting players. Their first album, Reckless & Wild, arrived in 2012 and was succeeded by Take a Moment the following year. The 2015 EP Summer Sessions further expanded their reach, culminating in greater visibility that December after the group claimed victory in Cumulus’ NASH Next Challenge talent contest and secured a deal with the newly established NASH Next imprint.
