Biography
Having originated in Madagascar and grown up in Belgium, pop singer and songwriter Brenda Mada moved to Atlanta, Georgia prior to issuing her debut single at age 18. She started performing vocally during early childhood, later adding guitar and piano while deliberately practicing songwriting in English rather than her native French, and she is also fluent in Dutch. After posting multiple video covers online of acts including Rihanna and Ariana Grande, Mada secured a contract with Def Jam Recordings and Bangladesh Music Group to release her official debut single, "House Party." Blending reggae-pop with smooth R&B, the track came out in early 2017. The-Dream, Sean Garrett, and Tricky Stewart counted among the writers and producers recruited for her full-length debut.
