Biography

Ken Sweeney, a Dublin native who made his home in London, operated under the alias Brian as an indie popster. His debut came via the 1989 single "A Million Miles," while the follow-up single "You Don't Want a Boyfriend" required a two-year wait before appearing. After the 1992 release of the Setanta album Understand, he largely withdrew for much of the decade, holding a day job and setting aside the songs he composed during that stretch as not ready for public hearing. His second album as Brian, Bring Trouble, finally arrived in 1999 to critical acclaim.
