Brian Capps, who performs as a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and upright bassist, has maintained an enduring devotion to country music and the earliest forms of rock & roll across his entire life. Born in Lebanon, MO, his engagement with traditional country began in childhood after his parents brought him to a Johnny Cash concert at age five. The classic Sun sound appears to have left its mark as well, since several years later he joined a local rockabilly outfit known as the Cadillac Crusaders. He exited that group to co-found the Domino Kings alongside Steve Newman and Les Gallier in 1993, performing on the band's debut releases Lonesome Highway (1999) and Life & 20 (2000), both issued by Slewfoot Records, until creative differences with Newman caused him to leave in 2001. Capps subsequently formed True Liars, whose lineup featured guitarist D. Clinton Thompson, drummer Ron Gremp, and bassist Lou Whitney. Whitney produced Capps' first solo album, Walk Through Walls, issued in 2005 on Hightone Records.
