Biography
Jazz guitarist Brian Prunka relocated to New Orleans in the early 1990s for the purpose of studying jazz. Limited appearances at area jazz venues allowed his reputation to circulate through the Louisiana jazz underground, after which he began participating in bands and later took on leadership roles. By 2002 he had formed two ensembles, one a traditional quartet and the other a jazz/Arabic fusion group. The quartet issued its debut recording that year under the title In Praise of Shadows.
