Brittlestar

Stewart Reynolds functions as the singular enduring member and guiding creative spirit behind Brittlestar, shaping the group’s energetic yet atmospheric pop/rock. An Ontario native, he absorbed the tuneful stylings of the Beatles, Elvis, and the Bay City Rollers while growing up. His professional path began through assorted partnerships, among them a collaboration with Celtic musician Loreena McKennitt in the short-lived pop duo Boy Blue. He later joined forces with multiple established songwriters—most prominently Stephen Duffy, lead singer for the Lilac Time, original founder of Duran Duran, and co-writer for Robbie Williams’ Intensive Care—to develop the Brittlestar project. Waiting served as the band’s first studio album in 2004, and MTV selected three tracks for placement in episodes of The Real World. The limited-edition EP Pirates appeared shortly afterward, followed by Secrets in 2006.
