Brown Wing Overdrive constructs its fractured experimental sound from found-object percussion, manic banjo lines, clattering jaw harp drones, electronic beats, ringing alarm clocks, and possibly even the kitchen sink. The project took shape once Chuck Bettis and Derek Morton crossed paths in Washington, D.C., where both were already embedded in the local experimental music community; the pair soon formed a working duo. Mikey IQ Jones joined in 2007, bringing his jaw harp and percussion vision into the fold. After the relocation to Brooklyn, N.Y., BWO issued the live recording We Have Issues in 2007 on Living Myth Records. ESP Organism followed in 2008 on John Zorn's Tzadik Records.
