Biography
Brute emerged as a side project uniting Vic Chestnutt with several Widespread Panic members and delivered its debut album Nine High a Pallet on Capricorn in 1995. The set drew on Panic personnel Dave Schools (bass), Michael Houser (guitar), John Hermann (keyboards), Todd Nance (percussion) and John Bell (dobro, vocals). Their next joint effort, Co-Balt, appeared in 2002.
