Daniel Brady Lynch, a prolific do-it-yourself artist, originated the Bummerville project. Throughout the 2010s he became a recognizable figure on the Savannah, Georgia music circuit by drumming in the punk groups Cray Bags and Greta O. & the Toxic Shock. With his partner Rachael Boswell he handled guitar duties in the garage-rock duo the Lipschitz while continuing his longstanding electronic solo outlet Sunglow. Three albums appeared under the Sunglow name from 2014 to 2017, after which the Lipschitz issued their first long-player, Country Boy, in 2017. Following a move to Chicago with Boswell, Lynch revealed plans for the new endeavor Bummerville. Although centered on his own efforts, live shows recruited his brother Derek Lynch on bass along with Joshua Sterno on guitar and Johnathan Graham on drums. The resulting sound departed from his earlier work through lo-fi fuzzy textures and buried vocals while preserving melodic tunes. Bummerville’s debut album, Bottom Feeder, arrived in January 2018 on Graveface Records.
