Burial Hordes

Burial Hordes emerged as a Greek black metal outfit drawing from the misanthropic lineage of Cadaver, Carpathian Forest, Aura Noir, and early Mayhem. The project originated in 2001 when vocalist NightSpirit, guitarist Necrotormentor, and guitarist/programmer Adrahil came together, soon recruiting bassist Psychaos and drummer Erevos. Those early efforts produced the demos Entering the Untrodden Forest (2001) and Mors Luminis (2003), each issued on cassette in a run limited to 666 copies. By 2004 vocalist Cthonos and drummer Impaler—of Enshadowed and Merciless Crucifixion—had entered the lineup, enabling a split release with Eschaton. Two years after that arrival the band issued its first full-length album, War, Revenge and Total Annihilation. Late in 2008 Burial Hordes delivered the follow-up Devotion to Unholy Creed on Singapore’s Pulverised Records, extending the reach of their black gospel to further corners of the world.
