During his association with producer Joe Meek, singer Dave Adams recorded under several pseudonyms, one of which was Burr Bailey. The name was assigned to the more country-oriented material generated at Meek’s studio, and releases appeared both under the solo billing and as Burr Bailey & the Six-Shooters. The latter group was in fact Meek’s resident house band, the Outlaws, whose lineup featured Ritchie Blackmore on lead guitar. In the early 1960s the English Decca label released two Burr Bailey singles, “San Francisco Bay” b/w “Like a Bird Without Feathers” and “Chahawaki” b/w “You Made Me Cry.”
