Biography
Swedish rapper Busu weaves emotional depth into his productions much like fellow emo rap acts, yet pushes further by weaving in pop-punk melodic lines and live instrumentation. After dropping multiple singles, he released the 2018 mixtape Deadbeat Boyfriend Diaries, highlighted by its take on Chief Keef's "Hate Bein' Sober."
A native of Sweden, Busu first began creating music in the late 2000s and started sharing tracks online around 2014. From his base in Stockholm he built a style built on programmed drums and rapping that regularly folded in acoustic rock instruments alongside punk-inflected vocals. Several singles preceded his 2017 mixtape Family, made in tandem with DJ HAYDN and Teo Sweden. The following year he issued the seven-song Deadbeat Boyfriend Diaries, which paired the Chief Keef cover with a Yung Bans guest verse on "OJ."
