Biography
An Arkansas singer-songwriter of limited renown recorded two—or conceivably four—brisk, engaging and hard-driving sides for Joe Leonard’s Kliff Records label in 1959, though the performances lean slightly toward formula. A single issued on the same imprint, cut during those identical sessions yet credited to Don Curtis, may likewise stem from McClarey, who also handled production. McClarey himself wrote “Rock ’n Hall,” “Now I Know,” “Rough Tough Man” and “My Little Girl,” all four of which later appeared on the 1998 Bear Family anthology Lin & Kliff Story.
