Contemporary Christian trio Cain connected with listeners through their melodic worship material, which blended acoustic textures and the close three-part harmonies of its sibling members. The group’s 2021 release Rise Up and its 2023 follow-up Jesus Music found favor among faith-based audiences, driven by repeated Christian-radio favorites such as “Rise Up (Lazarus),” “Yes He Can,” and “I’m So Blessed.”
Taylor, Madison, and Logan Cain grew up in Hartselle, Alabama, under the guidance of a Pentecostal preacher, forging a particularly close sibling relationship. From an early age the three wrote original worship songs; after being homeschooled they completed high school and earned degrees together at Troy University. Professional music aspirations remained distant until 2012, when the siblings won a competition that placed them on a bill with Christian singer-songwriter Dave Barnes. An independent EP appeared in 2015, accompanied by steady road work.
Their visibility increased sharply in 2020 after signing with the Sony-affiliated Provident imprint. The resulting self-titled EP yielded the single “Rise Up (Lazarus),” which the Recording Industry Association of America certified gold. Additional non-album singles followed in the form of spiritual reinterpretations, among them Kenny Loggins’ “Celebrate Me Home” and the Zach Williams–Dolly Parton duet “There Was Jesus.” Williams subsequently invited the trio to open shows on his own tour.
Rise Up, released in 2021, added further Christian-radio successes with “Yes He Can,” “The Commission,” and “I’m So Blessed.” That same year the group issued the EP Wonderful, whose title track featured a collaboration with Steven Curtis Chapman. Cain spent the bulk of 2022 on the road and made a first appearance at the Grand Ole Opry. In 2023 the act delivered the live EP Honest Offering alongside its second studio album, Jesus Music. Support dates for the latter project continued into 2024, pairing Cain with Crowder, Newsong, and Chris Tomlin.
