Biography
Kerri Kenney, a skilled comedienne who appeared in the cable programs The State and Viva Variety, fronted the New York City art-pop trio Cake Like on vocals and bass. She formed the band in early 1993 together with guitarist Nina Hellman, another student from New York University's Experimental Theater Wing; neither musician had yet mastered her instrument when Cake Like began, yet after drummer Jody Seifert came aboard the group tracked its debut album Delicious before the year ended. The album surfaced in 1995 on John Zorn's Avant label to widespread critical praise, and following a move to Vapor Records the trio returned in 1997 with Bruiser Queen. Goodbye, So What arrived two years afterward.
