Biography
The Brooklyn-based garage punk outfit Call of the Wild, a trio with a pronounced taste for high decibel levels, gravitates toward the sharper, more abrasive edges of the style by evoking the raw power of Motörhead and the Earth A.D.-era Misfits while blending punk’s tuneful phrasing with the unyielding weight of thrash metal. Guitarist Johnny Coolati, bassist Max Peebles, and drummer Allison Busch—who had previously played with Awesome Color—established the group in 2011, and the following year Kemado Records issued the band’s first full-length studio album, the fittingly named Leave Your Leather On.
