Biography
Calvert McNair launched his gospel career as lead singer for the inspirational quartet known as the Nightingales. After a diagnosis of terminal cancer, he committed to tape a solo LP that later appeared as I'm Free, intended as a farewell gift to family and fans alike; McNair died in 1996 at age 45.
