Camel Toe

In 1996 the trio of Doug White on bass and sampler, Oscar Galvao on drums, and JP Ferris on guitar and vocals launched Camel Toe in their hometown of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The group fused unadorned funk grooves, digital samples, and a deliberately ridiculous wit—signaled by the band’s name—before documenting the sound on their independently issued, self-titled debut album in 1998.
