Camp Trash first reached a wider national audience in 2021 through Downtiming, their concise four-track EP that balanced raw emo emotion, tuneful power-pop hooks, and dry self-mockery without favoring any one element. The Florida group followed with their first full-length effort, The Long Way, the Slow Way, in 2022.

The quartet originated in 2019 when longtime friends Bryan Gorman, handling vocals and guitar, and Keegan Bradford on lead guitar joined forces with bassist Levi Bradford and drummer Alex Roberts. Even prior to laying down material, the Florida outfit attracted considerable internet attention. Working alongside Orlando producer and engineer Kyle Hoffer, they created several early tracks that quickly generated buzz and caught the ear of Michigan-based emo-revival label Count Your Lucky Stars Records. The imprint signed the band and issued Downtiming in the first months of 2021. Standout cuts such as “Bobby” and “Weird Florida” expanded their profile, the latter track becoming a centerpiece of the July 2022 album The Long Way, the Slow Way.
