Biography
Candace Corrigan has pursued a wide-ranging career that unites historical inquiry with her work as a singer, songwriter, actress, and producer of radio and television projects. She developed the stage work Sampler of Michigan Pioneer Women from authentic letters and diaries, later adapting it for public radio broadcast. Another venture, Through a Woman's Voice, drew on writings by Tennessee women from the eighteenth through twentieth centuries, resulting in a public-radio presentation and a two-CD set that paired spoken narratives with newly composed songs. Her radio documentary The Perfect 36 examined women's voting rights, while Running for Freedom offered a dramatic radio portrayal of an enslaved woman who escaped. Under the name Candace Anderson she released the album Talking to a Tennessee Moon, followed in 2004 by The Love I'm In. She also hosts the radio series The Nashville Nobody Knows, featuring music and interviews.
