Pianist and composer Carol Comune crafts her original works by drawing on classical traditions, her Italian roots, and additional influences to shape a singular personal voice. She took up the piano in early childhood, trained at the French School of Music in Plainfield, New Jersey, and completed both her undergraduate and graduate studies at the New England Conservatory of Music. Among her teachers she lists the internationally recognized artists Anthony di Bonaventura and Donald Waxman, while Isabelle Vengerova’s example also left a lasting mark shared by many others. Comune has given instruction in Massachusetts, Florida, and New Jersey and has appeared in solo and chamber-music recitals across numerous eastern United States venues.

Her compositions, noted for their color, charm, and distinction, have reached listeners through public radio and major streaming platforms. In 1990 she issued her debut album, Intracoastal, which interleaves original pieces with well-known classical melodies. Through her own imprint, Elegant Entertainment & Co., she has produced six further recordings that showcase her gentle yet assured touch and her reassuring, optimistic musical outlook; several of these works she also makes available in editions for students.
