Jeff Phillips stands behind the enigmatic Carrier Flux, an avant-industrial-black metal project whose intricate creative outlook and distinctive ability to merge separate strains of heavy metal into an unfamiliar hybrid prove striking. Carrier Flux first appeared via the independently issued 2000 album Introspective Nightmare, then inked a deal with Athens, Greece-based Black Lotus Records and delivered its follow-up effort, the 2002 opus In Waste.
